CANTON -- Local reporters and community leaders have been invited to a meeting with state Department of Health officials Friday regarding enforcement of health regulations related to local cook-offs and other community food events.
According to the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, which is hosting the meeting, invited guests include Sen. Patty Ritchie, Assemblywoman Addie Russell, regional DOH representatives, and community leaders.
Several times in the past few years, state health authorities have refused to allow food to be served at public events where the food was not prepared in an approved kitchen.
