LISBON -- Most St. Lawrence County residents are thinking of fall and heading back to school, but the Lights on the River volunteers are already gearing up for this year’s winter festivities and seeking display offers.
This will be the fourth annual Lights on the River event, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14 to Sunday, Dec. 22 from 5 to 9 p.m. nightly at Lisbon Beach.
This year Lights on the River will feature an expanded display area.
Event organizers are seeking displays by businesses, groups, organizations, and families from throughout the North Country. It is free to enter a display.
This year’s event will benefit the Canton Church and Community, Canton Neighborhood Center, Hammond Neighborhood Center, Heuvelton Food Pantry, Lisbon, Norwood-Norfolk-Raymondville Outreach, Ogdensburg Neighborhood Center, and Waddington Family and Resource Center food pantries.
Over the past 3 years Lights on the River has raised over $32,000 for local food pantries.
