POTSDAM -- Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley’s “Hospice Future Campaign” received a boost from SeaComm Federal Credit Union in the form of a pledge of $25,000.
The contribution will help build hospice’s reserves and ensure the quality and availability of hospice care in St. Lawrence County into the future. Hospice has set a $1,000,000 goal and to date has raised more than $500,000.
“Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley’s work is vital in easing the pain and suffering of our North Country neighbors who are at critical stages in their lives, as well as that of their families,” said SeaComm President and CEO Scott A. Wilson. “SeaComm’s financial support of this endowment will ensure that Hospice will be able to continue focusing on that fundamental mission for many years to come.”
“Hospice is thrilled to receive this pledge from SeaComm. The credit union is a very generous supporter of local charities and has committed to the future of hospice care in a very significant way,” said Hospice Executive Director Brian Gardam.
Hospice now serves approximately 85 hospice patients and their families each day. In addition, the organization provides palliative care for patients with advanced illness, bereavement counseling, caregiver education and support to St. Lawrence County schools after the death of a student, faculty or staff member.
