POTSDAM -- Each Friday, administrative staff at Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 U.S. Highway 11, are permitted to wear jeans for a donation. The staff recently donated $360 to Lights on the River in Lisbon.
The money collected is distributed to local charities throughout the year.
“Our staff selected Lights on the River because it benefits 12 local food pantries and reaches many of the communities we also serve” said Brian Gardam, Executive Director for Hospice.
“We were very pleased to give back to the communities who so generously support the work we do. We know this will touch many families at this special time of year” he said.
Lights on the River opened Dec. 13.
Donations will be accepted at the entrance as well as non- perishable food items. To date, Lights on the River has donated more than $50,000 to local food pantries.
