HANNAWA FALLS – After more than a year of effort, Helping Hands has opened the brand new Christian P. House Memorial Furniture Barn.
Present was Steve House who was instrumental in raising $25,000 for the construction.
Mike Maresca and Barb Maresca gave an additional $20,000 in memory of Christian P. House.
"Many local contractors volunteered to work on the building. Helping Hands is grateful for all of the volunteers who gave countless hours to complete construction of the building working through the cold winter months to get it done," a news release says.
The building is home to furniture, beds, appliances and housewares to be distributed to anyone in need anywhere in St. Lawrence County. Helping Hands is located at 5868 Rt. 56 in Hannawa Falls, and is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
