POTSDAM -- Since the famous groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter, the Potsdam Chamber has decided to host the “Heartbeat of Potsdam” Snowman Photo Contest to help us push through to spring.

Between now and Feb. 28, residents are encouraged to build a snowman and incorporate a “heart” into its design, explained chamber Executive Director Marylee Ballou.

Then take a photo (jpeg format preferred) of your creation and send it to potsdam@slic.com with your name, phone, town name, and email information. The snowman can be created by an individual, duo, group or family.

“We will post all entries in an album on our Facebook page, and the photo that receives the most ‘likes’ by March 14 will be named the winner,” Ballou said.

The contest is open to all residents of Potsdam and surrounding communities.

Everyone is encouraged to view the photos and participate in the voting, by ‘liking’ their favorite snowman photo between March 1-14.

The winner will receive a $25 Potsdam Chamber Gift Certificate.
