Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce seeking nominations for ‘Citizen of the Year’

OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of commerce is seeking nominations for the 2012 Citizen of the Year, an ward that will be given at their annual dinner on Friday, Nov. 2 at the Gran-View Restaurant.

They ask members to consider the person who most qualifies for the honor and send the written nomination to the chamber with a brief explanation by Oct. 15.

The chamber is also accepting nominations for the Business Improvement Award, which goes to a business that has had a profound positive impact on the community and its appearance by renovating and revitalizing an existing building into a thriving enterprise of which the community can be proud. The winner receives a plaque which is displayed in City Hall.

And they are taking nominations for the Outstanding Community Service Award, which goes to a person or group making a substantial contribution of time, work and philosophy into a project or program from which the entire community benefits.
