GardenShare is seeking farmers who wish to be listed in its 2011 Local Food Guide.
Each spring GardenShare distributes 35,000 copies of the guide around the county.
The Local Food Guide is the most widely read directory of farm stands, U-pick farms, orchards, organic farms, and other outlets where consumers can buy foods raised in St. Lawrence County. The guide lists dozens of farms offering fresh vegetables, fruits, cheese, honey, maple products, meat, and eggs.
To be eligible for a free listing in the guide, farmers must sell their own homegrown food directly to the public at a farm stand or other home-based business in St. Lawrence County.
To receive an application form for a free listing, call GardenShare at 261-8054 or email info@gardenshare.org.
GardenShare is a nonprofit community organization working to extend the benefits of locally grown food to everyone in the North Country.
