OGDENSBURG – Former St. Lawrence County District Attorney Nicole Duve has joined the Carlisle Law Firm.

The firm was established Jan. 1 after Carlisle, Carrothers and Clough dissolved.

Preston Carlisle, who has practiced law out of the 602 State Street location for more than 50 years, says he is excited about the new firm.

“We are now established and have three attorneys. Lloyd Grandy joined right around when we opened Jan. 1 and Nicole Duve joined us a couple of weeks ago,” he said.

Carlisle said his son Bill Carlisle would soon be joining the firm as well.

“He was a deputy sheriff and a sergeant in the drug task force,” he said.

Carlisle said his son recently finished law school and would be joining the firm once he passes the bar exam.

“The reason for all the change is Bill Carlisle,” he said.

Alice Carrothers and Molly Clough were formerly partners will Carlisle, but recently separated to establish a new firm located at 1031 Paterson Street.

Carlisle said he is excited about his new firm, which boasts more than 80 years of experience between the three attorneys.

Carlisle said he has been in practice since 1961 and Duve brings 23 years of experience. Grandy has also been practicing for around 10 years.

“They are both great lawyers,” he said.

The Carlisle Law Firm will specialize in personal injury, social security, disability and estate work.

He said the firm also offers free consultation.

“We have an enormous amount of experience and we are really going to be able to help a lot of people,” he said.
