Potsdam's Colonial House closing, but owners eye other business ventures, including seasonal openings
POTSDAM – The Colonial House Gift Shop, Potsdam-Canton Road, is closing soon, but the owners say they are exploring new business ventures including seasonal openings at the location for 2010.
Jennifer and Christopher Flint said they plan to close as soon as inventory is depleted, but the will continue to attend craft shows including the annual craft show at Clarkson University’s Cheel Arena Nov. 6-7.
The Flints said the store will be undergoing renovations and they are exploring “new business ventures” for next year for seasonal openings.
The Flints both work full time and said their jobs have made it impossible to continue keeping the store open often enough.
The store will remain open for the next few weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. Many items are highly discounted, the Flints noted.
Customers needing special item requests may call the Flints at 265-1999, as they will continue to purchase some new inventory.
