OGDENSBURG -- Just two weeks after auctioning off fixtures and equipment at its recently closed Potsdam store, financially struggling Hacketts is planning another auction at its Power Equipment building.
Blanchard’s Auction Service will conduct the auction at the building behind the Hacketts store on Pickering Street at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10. The preview begins at 9 a.m.
Items to be sold include a Raymond electric fork lift, Genie tow-behind man lift, hundreds of store fixtures, display units, clothing fixtures, equipment that needs work from the rental department, Kawasaki power sports accessories, shelving, and seven tractor trailer loads still to be unloaded.
The long-time retailer has closed its Potsdam, Canton, Pulaski, Watertown and Hamilton stores were. At one point, the chain said it would close the Massena and Gouverneur locations, but then announced those locations would reopen.
Besides the Ogdensburg flagship, the only other store now open is in Tupper Lake.
