Another internal medicine physician joins Canton-Potsdam Hospital

POTSDAM – Another internal medicine physician, Syed Zia Ur Rehman, has joined Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Dr. Rehman’s practice is temporarily at 145 Market St., the SeaComm Plaza, until renovation of permanent office space is complete.
Rehman completed his medical education at the Sindh Medical College, University of Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his residency at Long Island College Hospital, a 517-bed hospital in Brooklyn.
Internal medicine, also known as adult medicine, focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases affecting adults. Internists are trained to identify and treat a wide variety of adult diseases.
Some internists choose to focus their practice on a subspecialty area. Other internists, like Rehman, choose to become generalists, and may also serve as primary care physicians.
