Dress for Less formalwear has grand opening Saturday

Saturday, February 14, 2009, 7:48am
CANTON – Dress for Less, a new formalwear shop at 64½ Miner St., has its grand opening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Crystal Viescas, who owns the shop with her husband Chris, “has a love for the bridal industry,” Chris says, and has been making silk bouquets, centerpieces and corsages for some time.

The Pyrites couple have taken a big step into providing new brand-name wedding dresses, prom dresses, and accessories such as hand-made veils, bouquets, and corsages. They also have tuxedo rentals for the men.

Their slogan is “Affordable Elegance,” reflecting the quality of the lines they carry and the prices that are more affordable than might be found elsewhere, Chris says –“Manhattan dresses at North Country prices.”

They will do some alterations. They also hope to install tanning beds.

To start, Crystal will run the shop by herself, but she hopes eventually to hire at least one other person.

Store hours will be Monday to Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 10 to 7, and Saturday 10 to 2. They will also open by appointment.

The phone number at Dress for Less is 262-4282.
