Many farmer's markets in St. Lawrence County are now open for the season or will soon begin operation, according to GardenShare.
All markets now accept SNAP and debit cards, and some also accept credit cards, which can be exchanged for wooden tokens. Most farmers also accept FMNP, SFMNP, and WIC Vegetable and Fruit checks as well.
Market locations and times follow:
• Canton Farmers’ Market, downtown Village Green, Tuesday and Friday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
• Dekalb Farmers’ Market, Junction Building Supply parking lot, U.S. Hwy. 11, Wednesday, 1 – 6 p.m.
• Gouverneur Farmers’ Market, downtown Village Green, Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Martin’s Farmstand, 11 Needham Rd., Potsdam, online orders taken Monday – Wednesday for Thursday pickup at MartinsFarmstand.locallygrown.net
• Ogdensburg GreenMarket, Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center cafeteria, Thursday, 1 – 4 p.m.
• Potsdam Farmers’ Market, Ives Park, next to downtown Main St. parking lot
Saturday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Whitten Farm Mobile Market, Tuesday: Massena: 10 – 11 a.m. at Laurel Avenue Senior Housing; noon-2 p.m. at Alcoa back gate; Massena Memorial Hospital, 3 – 5 p.m. Wednesday: Potsdam: noon-1:30 p.m., Mayfield Senior Apartments on May Rd.; 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Friday: 10 – 11 a.m. at Assisted Living LBSH on 32 South Church St. in Brasher Falls.

• Massena Famers’ Market opening July 9, Triple A Building Supply parking lot, NYS Hwy. 37, Thursday, 10 a.m. - 5p.m.
• Norwood Farmers’ Market, opening July 6, Norwood Village Green, Monday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
