CANTON -- A new business offering e-cigarettes, a wide variety of vapors, glass, clothing and other wares has opened.
E=MC420 opened July 5 at 19 Miner St., Suite D, the former Freihofer’s Bakery outlet.
The owners are husband and wife Jerry and Janice Canabee, who recently moved from California to open up the store. They have owned similar shops prior to opening this one in St. Lawrence County.
The store will sell glass smoking pieces ranging from hand pipes, water pipes and larger glass pipes. Other items the store will carry include hookahs, incense, hippie dresses and skateboards.
“We carry Girl Chocolate skateboards,” she said.
One main reason the couple decided to open a store in Canton was “the four colleges,” she said.
“It’s also a great place to be and live in,” she said. “It’s what we like…a small, family-oriented community for our kids to grow up in.”
Janice says Jerry lived in the Brasher area when he was a little boy, and that he still has family in the area.
The response from the community and customers “has been great so far, people are excited,” she said.
