EJ Noble Guild President and hospital Board Member Judy Chase presents hospital President and CEO David Acker with a $50,000 check, the guild’s largest donation in history.
POTSDAM -- The 2013 EJ Noble Guild contribution to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation was the largest ever made, totaling $50,000.
The guild has been donating to the hospital foundation for 62 years, but has never contributed so much in a single donation.
Guild volunteers organize a number of community fund-raising events including the annual Holly Berry Bazaar, the soup luncheon, “Night on the Town” dance, and the guilds’ golf tournament.
Guild volunteers also assist at hospital events like health fairs and educational programs, and serve as links between the hospital and the community.
Last summer guild volunteers completed and dedicated the “butterfly garden” in front of the EJ Noble Building in Canton.
The 2013 contribution include $25,000 for an infant warmer on the hospital’s obstetrics unit, a $20,000 pledge payment for the “Constructing Healthier Communities” campaign, and $5,000 for two scholarships for students in their second year of the SUNY Canton Nursing Program.
