POTSDAM -- Parking meter covers in downtown Potsdam might be there to keep the meters warm, but they also might be a way to remind shoppers that there will be no need to feed the meters along downtown streets through Dec. 31.
The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce expressed thanks to the village government for deciding on the plan.
“It supports our efforts to encourage people to shop small, shop local, and shop Potsdam during the holidays,” said chamber Executive Director Marylee Ballou.
“It will certainly assist our Shop Small passport event which begins on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28 and runs through Dec. 12,” she said.
