CRANBERRY LAKE -- Stone Manor Diner and Motel in Cranberry Lake has changed hands.
"This is a dream come true," said Maria Twyman, who along with her husband Carl, now owns the eatery
She worked in the diner for the past several years under the previous owner.
"We have already made a few changes and are planning a few more, but nothing major," Carl Twyman said. "The biggest change is that for the summer, we will be open for dinner three nights a week.”
On state Route 3, Stone Manor has been what Maria Twyman calls “a cornerstone of the community for generations.”
"We have artists, authors and politicians here every day,” Carl Twyman said. "We truly are the gathering place for the community.”
The diner is open from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday through Wednesday.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday it is open until 7 p.m.
The ice cream window is open until 8 p.m. daily.
The motel is open all week.
"We already have reservations for hunting season and the Cranberry Lake ice fishing derby," Maria Twyman said. "And, we always have travelers and fisherman passing through stopping for the evening or for several days. After all, we're the only motel between Tupper Lake and Star Lake."
