POTSDAM -- The C.O.R.C. (Council of Religious Concern) Thrift Store, 8 Willow St., received a $750 grant from Stewart's Shops from their Holiday Match Program.
The store was able to help over 200 families with children through their free clothing vouchers because of the grant. These families received clothing, winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves and boots to keep them warm this past winter.
The C.O.R.C store was able to give over $3,900 of free clothing and outerwear to people in need in 2015 due to the ongoing support of donations from individuals and companies like Stewart’s Shops.
C.O.R.C. relies upon monetary donations in order to help with the cost of maintenance, overhead, and staff. The store accepts donations of clean usable clothing, shoes and accessories for adults and children; as well as house wares, linens, toys, books and more.
The donation bin is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Store hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
