OGDENSBURG — The Community Bank N.A. Ogdensburg branch recently presented Ogdensburg International Seaway Festival with a $1,500 donation to support its 2018 event.
The annual event brings in visitors from around the region and is considered the biggest family reunion in St. Lawrence County.
“The Seaway Festival is an event that our community looks forward to each year,” Community Bank N.A. Ogdensburg Ford St. Branch Manager Denise Barse said. “With the city unfortunately no longer able cover the festival’s fireworks due to budget cuts, we too, wanted to step in to offer support and to help continue this beloved community tradition.”
The International Seaway Festival has been a staple in St. Lawrence County for nearly 60 years. The event consists of concerts in the park, talent shows, craft vendors, a children’s fishing derby, a canoe race and a movie night. In addition, the festival includes an antique car show and Battle of the Bands, where local high school bands compete for the title.
