MADRID -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center and Town of Madrid officials met at the site of the new Madrid Health Center recently to celebrate the ground-breaking with builder Richard Maginn.
The new center will be up and running by early December, according to Maginn.
“We are very thankful that the new health center will offer expanded services to our community and the surrounding area,” Madrid Town Supervisor Tony Cooper said. “This will increase access to services locally and reduce travel time for our community members.”
“With affiliated health centers in Ogdensburg, Canton, Heuvelton, Hammond, Waddington and Madrid, Claxton-Hepburn cares for patients in their own communities and in many cases within walking distance of their own homes,” Claxton-Hepburn Chief Operating Officer Nate Howell said. “We are excited to open our new Madrid Health Center. The new, improved, larger center will allow for new services such as obstetrics and mental health to be provided locally.”
