POTSDAM -- The Reh Center for Entrepreneurship in Clarkson University's School of Business is seeking nominations for the St. Lawrence County 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year.
The deadline for nominations is March 1.
Entrepreneur of the Year award recognizes a practicing entrepreneur who is committed to building his or her viable small business. The award criteria call for the entrepreneur to be located in St. Lawrence County, be an owner-operator of the business, and employ fewer than 20 people.
The honoree should also demonstrate a deep commitment to the community he or she serves as well as these other key characteristics of successful entrepreneurs:
• Creative approach to goal achievement
• Willing to take risks
• Engages others
• Is resourceful
• Faces ambiguity with enthusiasm
• Leads others to new achievement
To nominate oneself or another entrepreneur, email a one page maximum description of why the nominee deserves to be named Entrepreneur of the Year to Reh Center Assistant Director Ashley Sweeney at asweeney@clarkson.edu .
The recipient of the award will be honored with other North Country entrepreneurs at the Reh Center's sixth annual recognition dinner on Thursday, April 7.
"This award is an opportunity for the Reh Center for Entrepreneurship to recognize and celebrate the hard work of employers in our community," Sweeney said.
