POTSDAM -- Clarkson University has again been named one of the country's best institutions for undergraduate education, according to the Princeton Review.

And the August 18 issue of Forbes magazine ranks Clarkson University in its top-50 list of "America's most entrepreneurial universities."

Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges and four colleges outside of the U.S. are profiled in the Princeton Review publication, the new 2015 edition of its annual college guide The Best 379 Colleges.

Clarkson has also been named one of the Best Northeastern Colleges by the magazine, which identifies some of the colleges and universities that they feel stand out within each region.

This spring, the Princeton Review also named Clarkson University one of the most environmentally responsible colleges in the United States and Canada through inclusion in The Princeton Review’s Guide to 332 Green Colleges: 2014 Edition.

In the Forbes article "Startup Schools: America's Most Entrepreneurial Universities," it ranks the nation’s most entrepreneurial research universities based on their "entrepreneurial ratios" -- the number of alumni and students who have identified themselves as founders and business owners on LinkedIn against the school’s total student body (undergraduate and graduate combined).

The Forbes research complements Clarkson's own statistics that show that one in five of its alumni is a chief executive officer, vice president or equivalent senior executive of a company.

"This designation by Forbes is evidence of Clarkson's commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship," said Erin Draper, director of operations for Clarkson's Reh Center for Entrepreneurship.
