POTSDAM -- A Bloomberg Businessweek online article on a student's "return on investment" at Clarkson University credits "generous financial aid" for Clarkson's high ranking.
Businessweek's ranking of Clarkson at number 7 among all colleges and universities in New York State is represented in the article by an aeronautical and mechanical engineering student who will have paid about $20,000 for her degree, valued at $200,000, "a feat achieved through a combination of tuition discounts, merit-based awards, and private scholarships awarded to her by Clarkson."
The student "can expect to recoup the cost of her education and out-earn a high school graduate by nearly $1.3 million over the course of her working life, more than twice what a typical college graduate can expect," the article says.
Businessweek also ranks Clarkson at number 20 among "Fifty Affordable Colleges with Best ROI."
