POTSDAM -- Clarkson University and Clinton Community College (CCC) have joined forces to conduct research pertaining to the use of additive manufacturing technologies and to strengthen workforce training and education for regional industries.
“The North Country is becoming a great destination for employers engaged in advanced manufacturing due to the programs and tools we now have in place to prepare and attract a world-ready workforce, as well as for companies that need to engage in innovation-oriented research using novel advanced materials,” said Anthony G. Collins, Clarkson president and Co-Chair of the North Country Regional Economic Development Council.
“Clarkson University’s partnership with Clinton Community College is representative of the united public-private collaboration going on throughout the North Country to energize our communities and key manufacturing industries in aerospace, transportation, defense, biotech and energy.”
As part of its collaboration with CCC and others in the Plattsburgh community, Clarkson currently is highly engaged with the greater North Country businesses and industry on a number of fronts including activities through Governor Cuomo’s Innovation Hot Spot initiative and through partnerships with the North Country Chamber and the CITEC Offices.
