POTSDAM -- The Clarkson Inn has received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award for the fourth consecutive year.

The achievement celebrates hospitality businesses that have earned great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. Certificate of Excellence recipients include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world.

Located at 1 Main St., the Clarkson Inn is a boutique hotel in a Victorian setting on the banks of the Raquette River.

"This award recognizes the hard work of our team of associates," said Clarkson Inn General Manager George Lavigne. "Day after day, they provide outstanding service to our guests, as well as a total commitment to excellence. I thank all of our guests for showing their appreciation of our hospitality.

In May, the Clarkson Inn was also awarded the "Best to the Guest" Tourism Excellence Award by the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

TripAdvisor claims to be the world’s largest travel site, featuring advice from real travelers, and a wide variety of travel choices and planning features with links to booking tools.
