POTSDAM -- The Clarkson Inn has received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award.

The honor is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. Only the top-performing 10 percent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor worldwide receive this prestigious award.

To qualify for a Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travelers on TripAdvisor, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

The Clarkson Inn, 1 Main St., is a boutique hotel in a Victorian setting on the banks of the Raquette River.

“The Clarkson Inn was created by and has been maintained by true artisans for many years,” said General Manager George Lavigne. “Since its establishment more than a quarter century ago, this lovely hotel has serviced the needs of the most distinguished travelers with impeccable and beautifully furnished guest rooms, encompassing attention to details and genuine hospitality.”

“This achievement is the result of the hard work and total commitment from our team of associates in providing excellence to our guests on a daily basis,” said Lavigne. “
