Clarkson and startup helper company to accelerate idea-to-marketplace effort in Potsdam

POTSDAM -- Clarkson University's Shipley Center for Innovation and Protoscale Inc. are collaborating “to accelerate the commercialization of discovery-driven Clarkson innovations into the marketplace,” according to the school.

Protoscale helps inventors and startup companies. They and the school will aid early-stage inventors commercialize their inventions. The deal will offer expanded services beyond the school and into contract manufacturing.

"I am excited to be partnered with the Shipley Center for Innovation at Clarkson to help bright entrepreneurs bring great inventions into the marketplace," said Steve Davis, president of Protoscale.

Protoscale presented to startup companies working with the Clarkson Shipley Center. Afterwards, one-on-one meetings were held with to discuss their specific challenges and needs.

“The ability to expand the innovation ecosystem of the North Country and New York State into scaling of successful startups utilizing regionalized manufacturing capacity and expertise is the next key step in driving ideas to market with a focus on impacting economic development," said Matt Draper, executive director of the Shipley Center for Innovation.
