The owners of the CBS and Fox television affiliates in Watertown are bringing “classic” television shows to the air in the North Country.

WWNY and WNYF, owned by United Communications Corporation (UCC) of Kenosha, Wisc., say they plan to begin broadcasting MeTV in late summer on digital subchannel WNYF 28.2.

MeTV offers an extensive library of programming featuring favorites like "The Andy Griffith Show," "M*A*S*H," "Perry Mason," "CHIPS," "Bonanza," "The Twilight Zone," "Hogan's Heroes," "Star Trek," "I love Lucy," and dozens more.

With 177 affiliates around the country, The MeTV network is available to at least 96 percent of all U.S. households, the release from UCC says.

"We have a strong and proven history of commitment to the community of Watertown and northern New York both on air and online in providing the best in news, information, sports, and entertainment programming," said Lucy Brown, president and CEO of UCC. "The addition of MeTV is a natural complement and an added benefit for our viewers."
