OGDENSBURG -- Carlisle Law Firm donated $200 to St. Joseph’s Home for second prize in their Golf Ball Drop, set for Saturday, Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. at Father Martin Field.
Each year, St. Joseph drops up to 2,000 numbered golf balls from Frank Richardson’s helicopter onto the field. The ball closest to the pin wins $1,000. Second closest receives $200, third closest receives $100.
The numbers on the golf balls correspond to the numbers on the tickets available for $5 each.
This year, helicopter rides will be offered to 50 people for $20 each. The 15-minute ride includes views of the International Bridge, the St. Lawrence River and Ogdensburg.
