CANTON -- The Canton Free Library recently received a grant of $500 from the Stewart’s Holiday Match Program.
Krista Briggs, CFL’s young adult specialist, will the money to purchase table top games for use in her teen programming. Games such as Dixit, Settlers of Catan, Tsuro, Ticket to Ride, Elder Sign, and Fiasco will be used as a means of teaching teamwork, critical thinking and creativity as well as encouraging the gamers to interact in ways other than digitally.
All Stewart’s holiday match funds are for use directly with children 18 years and under in the geographic area where the shops are located and the money raised.
In fact, half of the check CFL received actually comes from Stewart’s Shops customers in the Canton area.
