CANTON – The Canton Community Fund recently awarded two grants at its November meeting to the Unitarian Universalist Church and to the town and village historian.

The $204 grant to the church will be used for a banner to be hung in the village park to help promote the bi-monthly American Red Cross blood drives that the church sponsors and hosts, a community fund press release said.

The town and village historian will use a $466 grant to purchase a large computer monitor that is compatible with the historian’s office’s new computer. The hardware will better enable the historian and her student interns to develop projects such as the annual Canton historical calendar, the release said.

The fund welcomes donations, requests for support of community-oriented programs, and expressions of interest in serving on its board of directors.

The fund encourages not-for-profit groups and organizations in Canton to apply for grants. Guidelines, as well as other information, can be found at www.cantoncommunityfund.org.
