Depostaccounts.com, part of Deposits Online, computed Community Bank’s health at A+ using what is called the Texas Ratio, an indicator of how much capital a bank has available compared to the total value of loans considered at risk.
As of June 30, 2014 Community Bank had $27.49 million in non-current loans and owned real estate with $977.9 million in equity and loan loss allowances on hand to cover it.
The bank has $7.43 billion in assets with $977.9 million in equity, resulting in a capitalization level of 13.16 percent, which is excellent, according to the site.
In the past year, Community Bank has increased its total deposits by $331.77 million, 5.77 percent growth for the year.
Based in Dewitt, the bank maintains one of its two regional administrative offices in Canton. In St. Lawrence County, Community Bank has branches and other facilities in Canton, Potsdam, Norwood, Madrid, Unionville, St. Regis Falls, Massena, Hermon, Waddington, Russell, Heuvelton, Ogdensburg, Gouverneur, Star Lake.
Community Bank, N.A.'s roots can be traced all the way back to 1866, the year when the predecessor bank, St. Lawrence National Bank, was chartered.
