Bright Beginnings Child Care and Learning Center moves to former Massena Museum

MASSENA -- Bright Beginnings Child Care and Learning Center has moved to 200 East Orvis St., the former location of the Massena Museum.

“When Massena Nursery School closed its doors in 2015, JoAnn Pellegrino and myself knew exactly what we wanted to do,” said director Mollie LaGrow. “We wanted to find a better suited location where we would be able to operate, not only the already well-established nursery school program, but also offer that high-quality program in a full day, center based daycare program.”

The childcare center was previously located at 9371 State Highway 56.

Although the name says childcare, the center says they are much more than a traditional day care center. Each classroom has instructors that teach age appropriate curriculum every day.

The center is a literacy-based program that centers around monthly and weekly themes with a daily story and craft. Each child can participate in calendar and carpet time, music and movement, fine motor and gross motor activities, sensory activities, and free play daily.

Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are included in the cost of care.

The center offers multiple nursery school programs that run Monday through Friday, Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday, or Tuesday/ Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

“We wanted to offer services for longer hours, and to more ages, while maintaining the quality and reputation of our current program,” she said.

All spots are currently filled. However, they are ready to open another classroom for 3year olds. This room will be a daycare room, but will offer all the same curriculum that the nursery school offers.

“When we moved into our new location in November, we had a minimum payment requirement in order to ensure we could operate successfully,” LaGrow said. “Now that we are up and running smoothly we are able to drop this minimum fee. We are now able to take children with part time enrollment as well as full time enrollment as long as we have the availability.”

Anyone interested in enrolling a child in the program, touring the new location, or would like more information can call 315-705-4619.
