POTSDAM -- Big Lots will kick off the opening of its new store in the Potsdam Plaza at 9 a.m., Friday, Nov. 4 with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring Big Lots executives and local city officials.
During the grand opening celebration, Big Lots district manager Rick Randall will present $2,500 to Lawrence Avenue Elementary School Principal Larry Jenne, who will accept the check on behalf of the school.
According to Big Lots, the new store will stock merchandise that typically sells for 20 to 40 percent less than discount stores and up to 70 percent below traditional retailers. At 23,000 square feet, customers will find everyday consumables, seasonal goods, home decor, electronics, toys, and one-time closeouts. Big Lots also offers a full assortment of brand-name furniture and Serta mattresses.
Big Lots operates 1,415 stores in the 48 contiguous United States and 88 Liquidation World and LW stores in Canada.
