MASSENA -- There is a new hair salon at the St. Lawrence Centre mall.

Stylists Megan E. LaBier and Courtney L. Sullivan run and work out of the new shop, Allure Hair Studio.

“We have a great client base here in the mall,” said LaBier. “We want to continue providing them the styles they love.”

It is across from the food court area and opened June 20.

“We researched and thought a lot about the name,” Sullivan said. “We eventually came across 'allure' and thought it was perfect. The dictionary said something to the effect of 'powerfully and mysteriously attractive.' We know how confident our clients, especially women, feel when they get that perfect look. That's what we want for our clients. We want allure.”

With a combined 20 years in the field, LaBier and Sullivan, will style men, women and children – both walk-ins and appointments.

Their space is freshly renovated.

“We are very family oriented,” Sullivan said. “We have a kid car station for young clients, and we have a chalkboard area to keep them busy while they wait for siblings or parents to get cuts.”

The pair say they received assistance for their new opportunity from many sources.

“Our husbands, family and friends have been incredibly supportive,” LaBier said. “Without their help, we wouldn't be making this dream – owning and operating our own salon - a reality.”

Allure Hair Studio is open Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. People can make appointments at 514-1507.
