OGDENSBURG -- Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Northern NY Dairy Institute, and PRO-DAIRY will offer a new Academy for Dairy Executives in Ogdensburg next November.
If a dairy is seeking new approaches to management practices, and to improve the performance of a dairy operation, the academy offers a chance to discover and hone skills that Cooperative Extension says are proven to be essential for well-rounded, high-performing dairy managers.
The Academy of Dairy Executives will allow dairy managers to further improve their management practices through a three-part program over 10 months. The program focuses on many areas of high-performance management, including financial, assessment, budgeting, decision-making, building effective employee teams, business risk management and strategic planning.
The academy will have a session in Ogdensburg Nov. 15 and 16.
Speakers will include Cornell Cooperative Extension educators, PRO-Dairy specialists and invited consultants. Participants will be able to interact and build relationships with dairy managers from across the region, and speak with the speakers informally.
