OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority welcomed the Marine Vessel Peter R. Cresswell to the Port of Ogdensburg Friday afternoon to deliver approximately 30,000 tons of road salt for the Morton Salt Company.

The 730-foot-long vessel from St. Catherines, Ontario is owned by Seaway Marine Transport. The delivered salt will be used throughout the North Country’s counties, municipalities, and private firms. It will replenish reserves to ensure safe winter driving conditions for travelers.

“The Marine Vessel Peter R. Cresswell is making the first of two scheduled deliveries to the Port of Ogdensburg...we expect the second delivery at the end of October” said Steven J. Lawrence, Director of Operations of the Authority.

“We are delighted to welcome the Cresswell to the Port of Ogdensburg” said Wade A. Davis, Executive Director of the Authority.
