Paul and Shirley (Tatem) Charleston are announcing their 50th Anniversary.
The couple married on March 27, 1960 in Back Bay, Virginia. The wedding was performed by Rev. Eugene Arlington. The wedding party included the late Duane Charleston, as Best Man, and Elizabeth Ward as Matron of Honor.
Since then, they have had two children, Kelly Cyrus and Brian Charleston, both of Winthrop.
They have five grandchildren, and one great grand-daughter.
Paul worked at the Potsdam Paper mill until 1966, then Pepsi-Cola until his retirement in 1993. He is interested in gardening, refinishing furniture, and garage sales.
Shirley was a stay-at-home Mom until 1966, then worked at Potsdam Ponderosa until 1998. She is a quilter, and loves sewing, flower gardening, and garage sales.
