Special Education Mediation for Families

This PD Package provides information on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Special Education Mediation process, to encourage the use of this voluntary process statewide.

The North Country School-Age Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Center located at the Child Care Coordinating Council of the North Country, provides technical assistance on the special education process, group training, research, and information to parents/guardians of children and youth with a disability, ages 5-21. We cover school districts in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, St. Lawrence, and Northern Hamilton counties.
