A moment between friendly competitors was captured as they posed together after a very tight race between Norwood-Norfolk Central and Saranac Central High at Ogdensburg’s Van Dusen Invitational May 20. N-N won the 3200-relay by only 3 seconds, with a time of 10:13. “In a mutual show of respect between competitors, the Saranac girls asked for a photo with the N-N girls team. Both their coach, Matt Medirios, and I thought it a wonderful scene,” said NN coach Kent Fetter. From left, Saranac Central: Gillian Miner, Laura Denial, Sienna Boulds, and Hannah Hamel. N-N team: Sharon Colbert (Parishville-Hopkinton), Maddie Carista, Rachel Hewey, and Allie Snell (Parishville-Hopkinton). N-N also won their 3rd Van Dusen championship. Photo submitted by Kent Fetter.
